Formulation to skincare is like recipe to a dish. The right mix of ingredients is the equation to a successful product. Any chemist or scientist will tell you that it takes a lot more than just blending all the good stuff into a test-tube. There are lots to consider; from how X + Y versus Y + Z will change the texture, colour and effects to how much of each ingredient to put to the mix and finally to the stability of the formula. But we will not get into the science of it.

On top of all those considerations, think about the end goal of a formula. So what if you have put together a blend of the best ingredients but aren’t able to deliver to where it’s needed? This is why IDS Skincare developed ENHANCE, a transcutaneous delivery system as part of a formulation to help drive key active ingredients deeper into the hypodermis, in order for the product to really work and give you the results you seek.

Three years later, NEULASTIN is born. So What Is NEULASTIN Exactly?

Developed in conjunction with Dr Jacob Waugh, a brilliant young physician/scientist with over 15 years of experience in applied cross-disciplinary research as well as residency and fellowship experience at the prestigious Stanford University School of Medicine, this is a much improved formulation that incorporates ENHANCE along with a blend of highly active ingredients.

NEULASTIN comes from ‘new’ and ‘elastin’, because its main function is to stimulate elastin and collagen production for effective skin repair and restoration from “solar wounds” inflicted daily by the environment and other aggressors such as UV rays, blue and Infrared light. These “wounds” also known as visible “solar scars” manifest into what we know as wrinkles, dark spots and acne. When skin is afflicted by environmental aggressors, it induces a wound or inflammation response within the skin, resulting in imperfect repair which in turn leads to “solar scars”. Repetitive damage over time will eventually result in visible fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots or other skin conditions.

Think of NEULASTIN as a wound healer to deliver active ingredients to where the skin needs them most. This allows you to maximise the full potential of the products to restore your skin as much as possible so that the vicious cycle is ended before visible solar scars appear! It only makes common sense that when you havea wound, you need remedy to heal the wound before you apply other products which may now not work to the desired effect because you have a wound. NEULASTIN works as that cure-all salve, so that the other active ingredients can do its job, leaving your skin aglow!

What’s In NEULASTIN?

1. HYALURONIC ACID
Helps to maintain the hydration and elasto-viscosity of tissues and protects and supports epidermal hydration.

2. COLLAGEN
A protein present in all organs and tissues in the body. It also provides the matrix that sustains the body’s structure, and is responsible for skin strength and elasticity. The loss of collagen leads to wrinkles and other signs of aging over time.

3. ELASTIN
A protein found in connective tissues responsible for allowing it to “snap back” to its original shape after being stretch or contracted.

4. ADENOSINE
Effective in treating wrinkles, resulting in smoother, firmer and more even skin.

5. ZINC AND MAGNESIUM
Essential minerals which encourage the support of the underlying structure of the skin. It also enhances the healing process and reduces wrinkling as well as other signs of aging.
